Situated in the same quarry workings as Crwbin Cave. From Pontyberem on the Llanelli to Carmarthen road, follow the road up the hill towards Carmarthen. On reaching the village of Crwbin take the small road on the left just a few metres past the village sign and in front of a bus shelter. Follow this road to a junction with another small road on the right and then follow this down a steep hill. At the bottom, the road bears around to the right and the ruins of an old chapel (Cape) Ddygen) covered in ivy can be seen in the field on the left-hand side of the road. Immediately opposite the ruins a rough track on the right leads into a quarry. Follow the track bearing left, past the first two faces, and then scramble up a grass bank on the right to a small terrace. In front of you is a clump of bushes and trees and the entrance to the cave is behind this under a wide overhang.
Description
The walk-in entrance is situated at one end of the overhang and leads into a large chamber. A large passage with calcited walls leads off to the left of the chamber but ends disappointingly after 20 m or so at a mud run-in. To the right just inside the entrance is a small passage which leads to a short climb down a pot to a descending passage. At the bottom is a small chamber which fills with water in wet weather. It is sometimes possible to continue along a low bedding crawl in water to 76 m of muddy rifts ending at a sandy dig. However, this extension quickly fills with water after only slight rain and can remain flooded for many months.
