Access
Take the road off Gwaen Bryn-Bwch on the Pont-Nedd-Fechan to Ystradfellte road and go for about half a mile to Dyffryn Nedd Farm to ask for permission. Follow the track to the South of the farm and follow the boundary fence due West down toward the river bed. Follow the river down for 170m along the meadow on the East bank to a point in the river bed about 80m North of a very sharp bend in the river to the West. The water resurges in the river bed along a 26m stretch from under a rock ledge and through gravel in the river bed. Water from Bridge Cave is also rising here.
Description
It is a rising in a stretch of the river bed. Attempts to dig it have failed. It is easy to find in dry weather as the river from here to Pwll-y-Rhyd and to Bridge Cave is quite dry. It is not so easy to spot in very wet weather as there are no distinguishing landmarks in flood. It is the rising for Pant Mawr Cave and according to Peter Harvey, also for Bridge Cave.
