Rising
Access Take the road off Gwaen Bryn-Bwch on the Pont-Nedd-Fechan to Ystradfellte road and go for about half a mile to Dyffryn Nedd Farm to ask for permission. Follow the track to the South of the farm for about 450m. The pool lies under a cliff close to the East bank of the river.
Description It is a large pool under an overhanging cliff. The pool is about 12m dia. by 8m deep and 10m from the edge of the river to which the water from it flows, even in dry weather. It has been assumed that it is the resurgence for the Bridge Cave water but there is no conclusive proof of it. Divers have failed to penetrate through the blocks at the bottom of the pool. Opposite it under the cliff on the west bank is R2, one of the Pant Mawr risings.
